I love telling stories. As a technical writer, editor, digital marketer, and former web journalist, I specialize in turning complex information into clear, findable, and useful content.
In 2025, I completed a Digital Marketing certificate program from General Assembly. In 2023, I completed a Technical Communication certificate program from UC Berkeley.
In 2001, I left a technical writing career for Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. I then managed newspaper web departments for a decade: leading editorial teams, supervising staff, and running media labs.
I’m a photo hobbyist who’s produced thousands of photos for publications.

I left journalism in 2014 not only to serve my growing family as a Stay-at-Home Dad but also to manage our real estate investments.
I’m learning to manage my family’s 700-acre farm in Broken Bow, NE.
I donate and volunteer to Surfrider Foundation’s San Diego Chapter, which fights to protect the ocean and its deteriorating beaches.

H4H ReStore is the retail arm of the famous nonprofit organization. I processed donations and trained volunteers.

HeartYN was a social media community-building experiment. I photographed everyday folks on the sidewalks of Los Angeles for social media vignettes.

I helped a New York City-based sport and performance psychologist create a new digital strategy. I developed her social media channels, wrote marketing materials, and developed a website: gts-nyc.com.

ApparelNews.net reports on the fashion industry. As the interim Web Production Manager, I produced weekly publications and ran email marketing campaigns.

TCN was a group of seven suburban newspapers owned by the Los Angeles Times: Burbank Leader, Glendale News Press, La Canada Valley Sun, Pasadena Sun, Daily Pilot, Coastline Pilot, and Huntington Beach Independent.
After I redesigned the websites in 2012, the Pasadena Sun won the EPPY Award for the best weekly newspaper website with under one million monthly visitors.
TCN was closed in 2020 and the sites were stripped of their individual styles. Furthermore, I spent several months helping the Opinion team of the flagship, LATimes.com, before retiring from journalism.
